Deleting your data

You can delete your Sentinz account and everything in it, at any time, without asking us. This page also explains how to request deletion if you no longer have the app installed.

In the app — immediate

Settings → Delete account

One step, no email confirmation, no waiting period. The account and all its data are removed straight away.

Without the app

If you have already removed Sentinz from your phone, email info@sentinz.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject Delete my account.

Sending from your registered address is how we confirm the request is yours — we will not ask you for a password or any other identifying document. If you can no longer access that mailbox, write to us anyway and we will find another way to verify you.

We complete deletions within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done. In practice it is usually the same day.

What is deleted

Deletion cascades through our database, so there is no copy left behind in a related table. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore an account afterwards even if you ask.

What is not deleted

The shared Dutch dictionary — the words, translations, example sentences and audio the app is built on — is not personal data and is not yours alone. It stays. Nothing in it identifies you or records that you studied anything.

Voice recordings and photographs are never stored in the first place, so there is nothing to delete.

The voice tutor’s server logs can hold a copy of a conversation. They are deleted automatically within 30 days of the conversation, and nothing in them is used once your account is gone.

We may keep minimal records where the law requires it, such as accounting records for any payment. These contain no learning data.

Just want a break?

You do not have to delete anything to stop. Signing out or removing the app leaves your progress intact for whenever you come back. Deletion is for when you want it gone.
